About Becoming Well Now

Robert PardonAs a recovered alcoholic and drug addict of over 21 years, I have a passion for seeing others become well. The devastation to the families, loved ones let alone the one suffering from the addiction is tragic. One of the greatest things I have ever learned in my years of recovery is that anyone can recover.

Alcoholism and drug addiction crosses every barrier that would otherwise separate you from me.Because no one person is immune from the suffering, it stands to reason that no one is excluded from recovery. A person merely has to want to become clean and sober more than they want to use. There are so many forms of treatment available and many of those ways are effective.

The most effective way I have ever seen in my years of personal recovery and working in the field of recovery is when one who has recovered guides the one seeking recovery. It is a therapeutic relationship that benefits both individuals. The person who has recovered from their addiction needs to help others to feel a sense of completion and the person in recovery needs first hand knowledge, understanding and to be loved by someone who has been where they are at and is where they want to be.
